Maundy Thursday Service with Communion and Musical Presentation:
"Passion of the Lord According to St. John"

This performance (sung in English) has taken parts of J.S. Bach's "St. John Passion," which sets to music the biblical text from the Book of John 18. The music begins with the last supper, and continues with the arrest of Jesus and the events that day that end with Peter's denial of Jesus.
This performance will include singers from the First Congregational Church, the First United Methodist Church, and singers from across the Greenville area. They will be joined by a small orchestra and a professional tenor, Zach Everyly, who will sing the role of Bach's 'Evangelist' whose words propel the story.
