What is a Columbarium, how does it function, and what is the benefit to choosing this option versus a burial plot?
• A columbarium is a structure specifically designed to house urns containing
cremated remains.
• It functions by providing individual niches where families can place the urns of
loved ones.
• Opting for a columbarium can be more affordable than traditional burial, when
considering factors like plot fees, headstones, and maintenance.
Features of the Columbarium here at FCCoG:
• The columbarium is set in an interior room in Fellowship Hall, located in
the basement, which is climate-controlled.
• Our columbarium is intimate and quiet, making it ideal for reflection and
remembrance for families to visit their loved ones for future generations.
• The niches are enclosed by solid wood and adorned with a bronze plaque that
can be inscribed with a personalized scripture or message.
• We have custom-built cremation boxes on display for families to purchase.
• Our niches can hold 2 cremation boxes. *All niches can fill 2 custom-built
cremation boxes.
If you are a family member looking to purchase a niche:
• You may inquire with the church office on the options. (i.e. pricing, available
niche locations, cremains boxes, funeral services, etc.).
• If you are not selecting a wooden cremains box from our display case, please
ask about the size of the niche as not all urns can fit into the hand-crafted
niches.
